Insurance Premium Auditor - PT or FT Independent Contractor (Orlando, FL area)

Premium Audit Consultants, Inc. (PAC) performs workers' compensation and general liability premium audits for commercial property and casualty insurance companies. We are seeking a part-time (with the possibility of full-time) independent contractor to perform audits of businesses that carry these insurance policies. PAC provides the assignments and audits are mandatory for the policyholders to comply with. A typical audit takes 2-3 hours, is done on your laptop computer and typically includes a review of the business operations, payroll records, financials and subcontractor information.

Applicant must have reliable transportation, a laptop computer, valid drivers' license, no criminal history and a willingness to travel to appointments during the day within an assigned territory.

Auditors are paid for the amount of technical time spent performing an audit. Technical time includes time on-site with the insured as well as time spent after the meeting writing up the audit report. Compensation for this position is $40-$45 per billable technical hour. Technical time does not typically include time spent scheduling appointments or travel time to the audits. Additional compensation, via a higher rate per billable hour, can be considered to offset travel time and expenses for audits located significantly outside of an auditor's territory.

The ideal candidate would be able to cover the greater Orlando area.

• A commitment to learning the technical aspects of insurance premium auditing
• The ability to organize and complete assignments within time sensitive deadlines
• Attention to detail and meticulous documentation skills
• Excellent people skills and patience
• Comfort working on a computer

Premium audit experience is a plus, but we have also found success with candidates who have accounting, bookkeeping or other insurance backgrounds. PAC has the ability to provide technical training as necessary.
