VITAS Healthcare is hiring Delivery Drivers to deliver home medical equipment to patient homes in and around Dade or Broward Counties. The Home Medical Equipment (HME) Delivery Driver is an entry level position whose primary responsibilities include: driving a box truck, delivery-pick up of home medical equipment, and education to patients and/or caregivers. The HME Delivery Driver works in a fast-paced team environment, has excellent customer service and communication skills, and thrives working independently.

Requirements:

Valid Florida driver’s license
Ability to lift 100 pounds when required
Work unsupervised in the field exercising discretion and independent judgment
Highly organized with strong administrative skills and computer competent
Experience with the operation and repair of durable medical equipment preferred, but not required
Available to perform on-call work as required

Responsibilities:

Delivers, sets-up, services and picks-up medical equipment and related supplies to/from patient’s residence and skilled facilities
Provides instruction and education material to the patient/or caregiver(s) on the operation, cleaning, and maintenance of medical equipment
Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and non-scheduled maintenance of equipment
Completes performance safety checks on equipment at the time of delivery
May clean and disinfect medical equipment as needed
Receives, identifies, and labels medical equipment
Maintains proper storage of equipment and supply inventory
Performs warehouse cleaning and overall maintenance
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
