The Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center is recruiting young adults (ages 18-24) for our 4th cohort of Advance and Earn which launches on September 7th, 2021. [Seats still available. Waitlist open. Still accepting applications!]

Through the 20-week program, students complete 160 hours of culinary skills instruction, gain their NYC DOH Food Handler’s Certificate and earn $4,000 through 250-hour internships working as prep and line cooks in fine dining restaurants like Jean Georges’ Mercer Kitchen, burgeoning fast-casual chains like FIELDTRIP, top corporate cafeterias, and entrepreneurial spaces and ghost kitchens like e-terra.

Advance and Earn is a free program that is generously funded by the Department of Youth and Community Development. Kitchen equipment (knife kits, cutting boards), raw ingredients (fish, game, produce) are provided free of charge on a weekly basis.

In order to participate, young adults must possess a GED or HSE, live within the five boroughs, not be attending school, and have a demonstrable passion for food and working in the industry.
