About K9 Adventures & Training Inc. – Palm Harbor:
K9 Adventures is a trusted pet care services provider in Palm Harbor. We offer off leash daycare, lodging, full service grooming and training. We cater to pet parents who wish to have their K9 loved ones participate in a comfortable – “home away from home” environment. Our culture is hardworking and positive and we are always bettering ourselves through industry knowledge.

To apply for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

* You must be 18 years or older and should be a non smoker

* You must be punctual and reliable

* You MUST be available at least 30+hours per week.

* You must be a self-starter, equipped with an abundance of common sense, and able to work on your own without micro-management after a period of in-house training

* 1 Year of Animal Handling Experience required (other than your personal pets)

* You must LOVE dogs

A few Guidelines:

-Self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision
-Comfortable in a “fast-paced” work environment
-Treat each pet with respect and decency
-Communicate clearly and frequently with the team and pet owner
-Work well in a team
-Always act and dress in a professional and work appropriate manner
-Be able to multitask and have strong attention to detail
-Must have excellent time management skills
-Be reliable and on time for work
-Maintain a clean, safe and fun working environment

Responsibilities:

-Keeping play area clean of waste
-Emptying trash bins and disposing of poop bags properly
-Disinfect facility and play areas
-Wash and clean play equipment and dog bowls
-Maintain and clean our well-kept facility
-Monitor social time in play groups
-Learn names and common behaviors of each dog and manage them accordingly
-Use basic obedience commands for manner reminders and dog handling
-Detect and discourage overly excited, aggressive or inappropriate behavior
-Ensure K9’s are safe when being exercised and socialized during playtime
-Report issues or K9 behavior concerns including injuries or health related issues
-Discourage jumping, overly excited, barking, growling, aggression, pulling on leash, etc.
-Keep accurate records
-Feed dogs according to instructions
-Have fun working with dogs all day
-Create and be a part of a fun environment
-Learn how to play with dogs in a way that stimulates them and be a part of a fun, dynamic group of dogs
-Take fun photos to upload to social media
