Hose Repair Tech & Road Service Tech Job Description

Perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse, making hoses to spec, assisting customers in buying decisions, make recommendations to customers based on inventory at hand vs ordering parts, identifying parts customers bring in and being able to engineer from scratch a solution or work around for something that we don’t have an exact match for. Conduct Service calls to job sites and remove hydraulic hoses that are damaged and replace with new, reassemble covers and test for additional leaks.

Counter Sales

You will be tasked with communicating directly with customers on a day to day basis. This means that you must be comfortable dealing with the public, able to problem solve their issues based on inventory we have in stock or have the ability to order, and also to make suggestions based on what they actually need instead of just what they want. You must do this all while being courteous, patient, and prompt the moment the customer walks in the door until the customer has exited the building.

Operate Equipment

Although warehouse workers manually carry merchandise off a truck, there are times that it is physically impossible. Therefore, the workers are required to operate the automated equipment that is required to move heavy cargo. New workers get training on the efficient use of these machines before being allowed to handle them on their own including but not limited to:

Taking Inventory

Taking inventory is a significant responsibility for the warehouse worker. On receipt of the merchandise, he should count and record the number of stock items and to do the same when it is being released. In discharging this responsibility, the worker ensures that the warehouse manager and the merchandise owner are updated on the availability of stock.

Physical demands and abilities

Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.

Qualification requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent required
1-2 yrs previous warehouse, mechanical aptitude, or customer service experience preferred
Good communication, organizational, time management skills
Dependable and Reliable
Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills are required
Basic reading skills. Must be able to follow directions
Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea
High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
Must be able to communicate, read, comprehend and speak English fluently
Spanish Bilingual is a major plus
Must have valid Drivers License

Job Type: 40 hours guaranteed from 7:30am to 5pm Mon-Fri, must be available to work a minimum of 2 Saturdays a month from 8am to 12 noon, some overtime available and once trained up you will be required to assist in being on call 24/7 certain days of the week (extra compensation for this discussed in interview)

Salary: $11.00 to $14.00 /hour, Overtime, Quarterly Bonus, After Hours Service Call Pay plus benefits
