Description

Malai is looking to hire a full-time dedicated and professional Ice Cream Maker for ice cream production, ingredient preparation, baking, and cone making. This role is pivotal to the growth of Malai. Along with daily production and upkeep, the Ice Cream Maker will also work with the Founder to develop new, on-brand products for the company. In addition to production, the Ice Cream Maker’s responsibilities include inventory management, and performing the tasks in our deep clean schedule. This role will also perform washing and cleaning duties that are required in the kitchen. To be successful as a Ice Cream Maker, you should exercise exceptional time management to ensure that all duties are completed in a timely manner. Additionally, an outstanding Ice Cream Maker should be able to comply with all food health and safety regulations. Ultimately, we see this person growing with Malai.

Responsibilities:

-All areas of production, including ice cream, other desserts, cones, and ingredient preparation
-Properly cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene.
-Working with Founder to develop new, on-brand products
-Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes
-Picking up, and unloading of delivered food supplies.
-Organizing and correctly storing food supplies.
-Inventory management and keeping up with pars and ordering

Requirements:

-High School Diploma or equivalent experience
-Proven experience assisting in kitchens
-NYC issued Food Handlers license
-State issued driver’s license preferred (with comfort driving in NYC)
-Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations
-The ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50lbs.
-The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
