Description

ICD (Institute for Career Development) seeks an outgoing, service-minded individual ready to teach and instruct others on building cleaning and custodial. In this role you would be joining our mission to help individuals with disabilities to transform their lives through career development and employment. The selected candidate will teach our Building Cleaning and Custodial (BCC) class, which is one of the course offerings in our Facilities Management training program. The goal for the Instructor is to properly prepare the students for entry-level employment in the janitorial maintenance field.

Responsibilities include classroom facilitation, managing student performance and administration.

Professional qualifications should include: Five (5) or more years of verifiable experience in the building cleaning maintenance field. A minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience and facilitation of training to young adults and adults is preferred.

Candidates should possess High School or Equivalency diploma. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES: New York State Education Department Licensed Private School Teacher, or Eligible (must apply for permit/license within 30 days of start and get approval from NYSED-BPSS). OSHA, EPA certifications preferred.

This full-time union position (Teamsters, Local 210) comes with excellent benefits–health benefits are paid by ICD. This is a 40-hour work week, Monday – Friday, and employees are paid semi-monthly (15th and last day of the month).
