FLOOR MANAGER

The Floor Manager will work directly under the Owner, and manage day-to-day tasks during service. You will be responsible for interacting with our clientele, developing new business strategies, reducing controllable costs, driving increased revenue during service, ensuring a smooth dinner service, and closing/locking up the restaurant at the end of the night. There is room in the near future for promotion, as we are looking for who will be groomed to eventually take over the position of General Manager. Only serious and capable applications will be accepted.

We are looking for:
– A charismatic, team-oriented, and hands-on manager to manage the ins-and-outs of our dinner service. This job will require you, at times, to host, serve, bus, and run – but ultimately your main role will be to ensure a smooth service, taking responsibility of all controllable costs in regards to food, beverage, and supplies.
– Someone with a level-head, who can handle pressure with grace.
– Someone experienced in maintaining labor and hygiene codes.
– Someone who is professional, reliable, and always on-time.
– Someone to build a capable and confident team, and to further develop service and selling skills.
– A manager who a quick learner and will be able to adapt to our dynamic environment with ease
– Someone hip and energetic – someone who will fit in with our dynamic establishment and charming staff!

Qualifictions:
– A manager or Captain Server with extensive experience serving Japanese cuisine in New York City.
– Fluency in English is a must. (Japanese speaking skills is a big plus, but not a necessity.)
– You must have legal papers (US Citizen or have a Green Card/working visa).
– You must have an open or flexible schedule.
– TIPS Certification and/or NYC Health Academy Food Protection Certification is a PLUS, but not an immediate necessity.
