Description

Jaguar Sun/Sunny’s Steakhouse is looking for a line cook.

About us:

We used to be a small cocktail bar with an even smaller kitchen. But since the COVID-19 pandemic, we have pivoted into an 80-seat outdoor steakhouse centered around a wood-fired grill that we made ourselves. You can see what we’ve been up to on Instagram @jaguarsunmia.

Our team has experience in some of the best kitchens in the world (Astrance, per se, momofuku ko, the Restaurant at Meadowood, Animal). We take our food and cleanliness very seriously. We do not take ourselves very seriously. We like country ham with mezcal, a clean kitchen, and al dente pasta. We strive to execute at a very high level while maintaining a positive, happy, and fair workplace. We respect and welcome all races, religions, nationalities, gender identities, and sexual orientations.

We are humbled to have won bar of the year from both Eater and the Pineapple awards as well as being named a best new restaurant of 2018 by Thrillist and Miami New Times.

About the job: Responsibilities include everything from mopping the floors to running service to ordering to maintaining a strong culture to creating P&Ls. This is an excellent job for a line cook looking to grow to take on more responsibility and get a close look at everything that goes into running your own small restaurant. We are a growing company with a number of exciting opportunities to grow and build a real career, and taking care of our employees is our highest priority.

This would be an hourly position with considerable overtime. We offer a 5 day workweek with paid vacation and health insurance.

About you:

You should have at least 1-2 years of experience as a line cook in a real kitchen. You must have a strong work ethic and be enthusiastic about learning and growing as a cook.
