We are an all-American family-owned and operated business that has been in this location serving Cobb County, Georgia, for over 20 years. The business was strictly an auto recycling yard until 2014 when we entered the used auto parts business. We have over 75 years combined experience in the used automobile industry so you can trust our parts and our guidance.
Cumberland Used Auto Parts in Marietta, GA is looking for one Used Car/Vehicle Prep and Sales Support to join our 8 person strong team. We are located on 1471 Gresham Road in Marietta about a mile from the Big Chicken and White Water. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, hard-working, and have some basic mechanical skills. Our business is owned and operated by 2nd and 3rd generation family members who love God and love our team like family. We are a fast paced, growing & improving business, and we want to add team members that will thrive in this environment and are looking for a place to call their work home for a long while.

This is a new role for us. We buy a lot of cars every month, and many are able to be resold with just a little work in mechanical repairs and detail cleaning, obtaining emissions, etc.

Responsibilities

– Prep the running cars for resale. Every car is different and will need different work done to it to get it ready for sale, so the ability to be self-motivated, prioritize the work, and stay focused is imperative. We have a software tool to manage the status of each vehicle, so the ability to make updates on a computer and effectively communicate the issues discovered.

– Be solution oriented! Every vehicle will have issues, so we just need to identify what they are and how to solve them.

– Make minor mechanical repairs (oil change, change headlights, taillights, door mirrors, bumpers, tire and wheel changes, brake jobs)

– Complete 150 point inspection reports to assist in finding and troubleshooting issues to be repaired and again at the end when ready to sell to give to future buyer.

– De-trash and light detail cleaning.

– Be able to drive the vehicles to car wash, emissions shop safely, so must provide clean driving record.

– Take photos and videos of the vehicles to prep for online marketing of vehicles.

– Assist potential buyers to look at the vehicles, take test drives, and answer their questions about the vehicle. Bring in others on the team to close the sales. The end goal of this job is help us sell more cars. So being available to show them and answer customer questions as part of the sales process is an important job.

– If there is available time or urgent need, be willing to pull some small parts for our used parts customers.

Qualifications

– Some experience with working on cars is required.

– Strong attention to detail with ability to work independently—be able to take direction and then run with it and not have to be hand-held at every step.

– Ability to communicate well with customers, management, and other team members. Be willing to learn, and offer suggestions, and handle change well

– Must be able to work with a couple of software packages to help manage the process, check for recalls, look for parts needed for repairs.

– There is a lot of outdoor walking around on the yard so you must be physically able to handle working outdoors, rain or shine.

– Must have a good driving record.

– Bi-lingual with English/Spanish would be a plus.

Hours are M-F from 8:30a – 5:30p. We also work the third Saturday of every month from 9am-2pm. We offer paid holidays and one week paid vacation after 1 year of work.
