Description

At The Salty, our overnight dough cutters are key players in making sure our donuts look and taste amazing. They are responsible for setting the pace for a great shift, every shift. Overnight dough cutters work diligently to cut, proof, and fry the majority of our fresh donuts each night. As all our donuts are cut by hand, we are looking for someone with passion and commitment.

Fun fact: We LOVE to promote from within! If you enjoy being active and working with your hands, this is a great entry into the restaurant business!

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Previous experience working overnight hours is a plus, but not required!
Ability to work overnight shifts is a must, including weekends, and holidays
Comfortable with physically strenuous and repetitive tasks
Excellent punctuality and reliable transportation to and from work
An extreme attention to detail
Ability to multitask and set priorities
Friendly attitude & team player
Excellent time management skills to work at a fast pace when given plenty of time
Curiosity to continue to learn
Courage to move fast, think big, and take risks to shape a winning outcome
Integrity to work alone with minimal supervision
Initiative to communicate and suggest improvements when needed
Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds
Fluency to read and communicate in English
WHAT YOU’LL DO

Calculate the number of donuts needed to be cut and fried daily based on given production totals
Ensure counts are done throughout each shift to double-check that accurate amounts of dough are being cut/proofed
Relax, sheet, cut, proof, and fry yeast and cake donuts (we’ll show you how!)
Communicate with kitchen lead(s) and dough mixers to cross-check quality and production numbers
Ensure cleanliness of work areas including but not limited to tables, shelves, equipment, walls, and floors
Ensure maintenance of equipment and tools used daily and report any malfunctions to the Executive Pastry Chef immediately
Complete and submit cleaning checklists at designated times
Other related responsibilities as assigned
