Kolombia Café is opening soon @ Sodo District! It’s looking for full and part time Baristas and Line Cooks.
1st and 2nd shifts
Mon-Fr 6:00 am to 1:30 pm / 12:30 – 9:00 pm
Weekends
Sat from 7:00 am to 3:00pm – 1:00 pm to 9:00
Sund 7:30 am to 1:00 pm – 12:30pm to 6:00 pm

Barista Position

Job Description:

We are searching for an engaging, courteous Barista who is passionate about food and beverage preparation and education. The Barista will greet customers, answer their questions, take orders and accept payments, and prepare and serve food and drinks. You will also maintain a clean and well-stocked workspace and dining area, update displays, and continuously expand your knowledge of food and beverage quality controls, preparation methods, and presentation.
To succeed as a barista, you should be committed to providing customers with excellent service. You should be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite.

Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years or older.
• Bilingual preferred (Spanish).
• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food and beverage.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to carry and lift up to 25lbs.
• Training and willingness to continue learning about beverage and food preparation.
• Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction and excellent service.
• Exceptional listening and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
• Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, and accepting orders and payments.
• Heating up foods, such as empanadas or baked goods, and packaging food to serve
• Grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.
• Cleaning and restocking work and lobby area, emptying trash, and sanitizing equipment and utensils.
• Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
• Taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.
• Working in as part of a fun, high-energy team.
• Clean lobby – wipe down tables, sweep, and mop.
• Maintain outside tables clean and organized.
• Clean bathroom – take trash out, clean sink and toilet, sweep and mop.

Line Cook Position

Description:

We are on the hunt for an experienced Line Cook to join our talented team and help prepare meals according to our standard recipes. In this position, your principal goal will be to prepare high-quality meals that meet the owner’s exact specifications.
You will be responsible for setting up the prep station, stocking inventory, and maintaining sanitation standards. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Ultimately, you will play an essential role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and restaurant growth.

Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in kitchen/restaurant.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Aptitude for multi-tasking.
• Must be able to run small kitchen alone.
• Skilled with kitchen utensils.
• Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to carry and lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work under pressure/ handle a fast-paced kitchen.
• Training and willingness to continue learning about food preparation.
• Availability to work around peak hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends.

Responsibilities:
• Prep station and make sure the kitchen is set up and stocked.
• Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
• Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
• Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers.
• Stock inventory and supplies.
• Prepare menu items quickly and smoothly.
• Bake menu items as needed for display case.
• Work with dishwasher and maintain dishes clean.
• Take trash to dumpster at the end of each shift (or as needed).
