Who are we…

When downtown was punk & the buildings were tagged with energy & art. Sweet & Vicious immediately became the legendary bar that it is today. Its cozy art-filled garden is the perfect spot for a tasty summer drink. Sweet’s warm orange bar & its trademark Hagia Sophia chandeliers make this an ideal spot for drinks and hosting parties all year long. The Role…
We are seeking seasonal bartenders who are witty, bright, hard-working and have great social skills that have had relevant experience in a busy and high-volume bar/restaurant. At Sweet & Vicious, the Bartender is responsible for preparing alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and providing excellent service accompanied by rememberable experiences to all guests who visit Sweet & Vicious. You will be responsible for professional behavior, charismatic, and positive energy to create a fun environment that drives conversation and sales. A successful Bartender will greet customers, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. To succeed as a Sweet & Vicious Bartender, you should have a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

Main Duties…
You will be responsible for preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while providing quality service to all guests who come to Sweet & Vicious.

This includes
• Mixing ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.• Pouring wine and beer.
• Serve customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized section as well as collaborate with other bartenders to; wash glassware and utensils after each use; clean up after customers and clean the work area.
• Collect payment on all sold items and operate a cash register (POS system).
• Check identification of customers to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol as well as determine when a customer has had too much alcohol.
• Must monitor and maintain an inventory of supplies and replenishment of items (delicate to Barbacks if they are on duty).
• Support team in creating social media posts for Sweet & Vicious Instagram and Facebook.
• Supporting the management team as needed.

Requirements…
• Must have a minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in a high volume setting.
• Exceptional customer service skills, team player attitude, and ability to multi-task is a must!
• Must have open availability and NYC food protection certification. TIPS/Alcohol Training certified is a plus.
• Must have a basic beer, alcoholic drinks, and craft cocktail knowledge.
• Must be able to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands, including the ability to clean up after customers and work areas.
• Must have some sort of social media presence, preferably Instagram and Facebook.
• Direct experience collecting payments and operating a POS system.
• A customer service orientation that is both friendly and helpful.
• Skilled in monitoring and maintaining an inventory of supplies.
• A knack for memorizing and mixing ingredients.
