Works best as a couch, futon is honestly not wonderful to sleep on full time. Former roommate used some thick exercise mats underneath it and it was pretty livable like that. Broken down into small pieces for easy transport, re-assembly is easy and all the screws are sorted neatly. The two tall pieces shown standing in the second picture can be reduced to half of their current height by removing 2 screws, so the total package could fit into a decent sized suv or a minivan easily.
