Are you an experienced Fast Casual Restaurant Manager looking to advance your foodservice career with an innovative fast casual restaurant? DÙNDÚ- A capitalized NYC restaurant startup is seeking an extremely talented Restaurant Manager to help pioneer the first African cuisine themed Fast Casual Restaurant in America. My name is FS (initials) and I am the Founder of DÙNDÚ and a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America with experience in fine dining, catering and fast casual restaurants. I am looking for a determined and experienced Restaurant Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset to help grow the DÙNDÚ brand in NYC. If you have a proven track record as being a hardworking, innovative, competitive, hands-on-deck resourceful leader who has a knack of finding quick and clever ways to problem solve in complex situations. Or perhaps you have these qualities and you’re tired of the bureaucracy and can’t-suggest-changes robotic culture of the large fast casual chains. If this is you, we want you on our team.

We are committed to continuous training and genuinely supporting each other to reach our goals, because as we grow, even more opportunities will be created. Big brain leaders who see and understand the big picture will feel-at-home at DÙNDÚ. Truth is, people with bad attitudes (even talented ones) don’t last very long here. Nor do “average-is-fine” people who do not consider excellence a worthy pursuit neither do people who do not take full ownership of their role and responsibilities. Our team works together to keep the atmosphere positive and friendly, it’s a big part of why we love our jobs and we’d love to keep it that way! Service oriented people will fit right in at DÙNDÚ because we listen to our guests. We bend over backwards (maybe do some flips) to make sure they’re happy every time. I’ll be honest; DÙNDÚ isn’t for everybody. Our manager will be hired to be the leader of many however if needed she/he must be willing to roll up their sleeves and pitch in whenever necessary like everyone else on the team. If you hate working in a team environment where coworkers truly depend on you to lead by nature and example or if treating the teammates you lead with kindness and respect annoys you, then DÙNDÚ is probably not for you and you should forget you ever read this. But, if you’re a leader with a positive can-do attitude who cares about both the guests, teammates and isn’t afraid to hold teammates accountable for their responsibilities and above all, you always get the job done well, then you need to apply. Now.

Our Restaurant Manager is the captain of our entire ship. This individual is responsible for both managerial and operational excellence at our restaurant and is expected to take complete ownership of the restaurant. The expected outcomes of this role include, but are not limited to-

• Achieves at least $1.75M sales in first year of operation.
• Works collaboratively to hire and build team of A players in both kitchen and dining area.
• Maintains established prime costs standards
• Successfully collaborates with designated teammates to gain market share (guests) from restaurant opening & routinely evolves initiatives as needed.
• Exceeds industry standards of food safety, cleanliness & sanitation. Consistently maintains DOH “A” rating.
• Drives culture of exceptional ‘extra mile’ caring (service) for both team mates and guests. This should be evidenced by steadily increasing percentage of repeat business, increasing recommendation by current guests, overwhelming positive reviews on relevant platforms like Yelp, Google, Trip Advisor
• Being the leader of the team, both through execution and nature

Required Experience for Restaurant Manager
• Must have at least 18 months’ experience as a High Volume (Fast Paced) Restaurant Manager in Manhattan
• Experience managing a new high volume restaurant location in Manhattan is vital
• Fast casual management experience is preferred
• DOH Food Handler’s License is required
• Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
